Wedding day 2007...

This is "Sunshine," my new ride!

This is "Sunshine," my new ride!

This is the hubby & I on our way to Chimney Rock with the group. Yes, they make fun of me for the chaps, but I'd like to keep my skin.

About 14 years ago I found a bead store down the street from my home and became fascinated with all of the colors, shapes and textures.  I instantly fell in love, but I didn't know it would turn into a full-time obsession.

In 2005, my husband and I moved to Charlotte, NC from Sacramento, CA and here is where I found my love for metal.  I stumbled upon a silver-smithing class here at a local rock shop and decided to try it. At the time, I was a 9 to 5 banker and needed some sort of stress relief and thought making pretty things would help me reconnect to the physical world from a world filled with conference calls, emails and virtual training.

One class is all it took!  I was hooked the first time I saw the solder flow on the very first ring I made.  That "small" success catapulted me into a world where I couldn't possibly learn enough or run out of techniques to explore.  When I began experimenting with sawing, filing and forming I knew that was it.  Metals...  Imagine the possibilities!

With the support of my husband, Michael, and the family mascots, Bailey & Mikka, I get to fulfill a dream I never imagined was possible.  Each day I venture to the studio, decide on a design and test it.  When it's successful, the pride I feel is unbelievable.  And, even when it's not as successful as I'd like, I still feel like I've learned something and can apply it to the next adventure.

Every piece has my heart and soul imprinted in it.  I make each item with my own hands and have a special connection to every piece because they are a piece of me.  The joy of clients who find a piece that speaks to them is irreplaceable and something I cherish deeply.

So, come find something that speaks to you or let me know if there is something I can create to open your heart and soul up to something beautiful.
