I know I promised these yesterday (3/12/2015), but I had a few other things on my plate. In any case, these are the finished brooches.
Both are gifts to the Great Spirit of the Native American tradition in thanks for the deer and porcupine set upon the earth to feed, clothe and shelter us. Mother Earth provides the bounty and the Great Spirit provides the love.
Both are fabricated from sterling silver sheet, wire and tubing and contain an 8mm Sun Ray cubic zirconia stone set upside down as an homage to the Great Spirit. The porcupine quills with the warrior symbolizes strength, protection and leadership. The deer antler slice and the tooth signify our tie to Mother Earth and her willingness to give us the buck for strenght, power and grace.
I really had a great time with these pieces and I hope you all like them as much as I do. They are a fantastic continuation of "The Hunt" series inspired by my bow-hunter grandma Myrt.
