I am still amazed at how accepting and wonderful lady riders are. Back in October I was perusing the local motorcycle shop, Iron Station Thunder, and was introduced to Sue. She's a lady rider and rides a big, beautiful blue Harley. I was impressed with her fearlessness. We became immediate friends. She invited me along for a ride through the Blue Ridge Parkway the following weekend. A complete stranger, accepting and taking me in to her crowd of riders. It's excellent!
And, here we all are gearing up at the meeting spot in Boone, NC. From this photo you can see how excited and happy all the girls are to be out with fellow lady riders. Every last one of them is unique, strong and full of life. It makes me so happy to have been a part of this ride. That's me the second from the left in the white leather jacket! You can see it was cold. I'm wearing my "turtle fur" that didn't really work all that well, but hey, I was out riding so I didn't really care!
We rode for a couple of hours through the most beautiful highway scenes I've experienced in a very long time. This was my first time through the Blue Ridge during the fall and I loved every stinkin' cold minute of it. We even picked up 3 additional riders in the mall parking lot in Boone! What a wonderful pack!
How could I not enjoy this view? It's invigorating to find people of like minds and spend some wonderful quality time in the outdoors enjoying a bunch of wind and a sisterhood like I've never experienced.
After the wonderful half day riding we have to refuel of course and it was off to lunch.
I left Lincolnton around 7am that morning and didn't get home until after 8:20pm that night and was exhausted. The ride home was even more beautiful with the sun setting in the background and all of the beautiful color of North Carolina in the fall. All I know is that I thoroughly enjoyed my day and am very grateful to have been invited into this wonderful group of ladies! I certainly will be doing this again.
Tell me your riding stories if you ride your own or on the back of some gorgeous hunk's bike. I'd love to hear about your adventures.
